    CTR (Click-Through Rate)

Percentage of users who click on an advertisement after seeing it - a leading indicator of ad engagement

    Calculated as (Clicks ÷ Impressions) × 100.

    In Web3

CTR in web3 is significantly lower than traditional web advertising. Users are extremely cautious about clicking external links when they have custody of valuable crypto assets, fearing phishing attacks and malicious contracts.

    Use as a Leading Indicator

CTR signals creative effectiveness and initial user interest. If CTR drops significantly, conversions usually follow. Use CTR for rapid creative testing and identifying engagement issues.

However, high CTR doesn't guarantee conversions—optimize ultimately for conversion metrics like CAC and ROI, not CTR.

    Don't Over-Optimize for CTR

Security-conscious web3 users who don't click may still convert. They see your ad, independently research your protocol through trusted channels, and convert later without ever clicking. This makes view through conversion tracking more important than click-based metrics in web3.
