    Basic Demographic Targeting

Traditional targeting options like geography, device type, and operating system

    Traditional Background

The foundation of digital advertising targeting, based on easily detectable user characteristics like IP location, device information, and browser details. While basic, it remains useful for compliance and localization needs.

    Web3 Evolution

Still relevant in web3 for geo-restrictions and basic optimization, but represents the bare minimum for targeting effectiveness. Most valuable for ensuring compliance with regional regulations rather than improving conversion rates or ROI. Often combined with demographic onchain targeting for better results.

    Primary Use Cases

Mainly used for geographical restrictions, device optimization, and regulatory compliance rather than performance optimization. Essential but not sufficient for effective web3 advertising campaigns that aim for positive CAC.

    Limitations

Provides no insights into user interests, behavior, or value potential. Inadequate for sophisticated web3 marketing where user intent and experience matter significantly for behavioral onchain targeting.
